124 miles northwest of Poat Falls is one of our favorite camping locations. We like to visit during the shoulder season. Steamboat Rock State Park is a very nice, well-kept, campground with a lot of outdoor fun available. We were traveling with Steve and Jodi, our next-door neighbors. Looking for a campout, we reserved the two campsites as soon as we could make reservations. Our reservations gave us three nights in the park.

The weather during our stay was as spring-like as you could ask for. We had sunshine, wind, and rain, which kept the stay interesting. We rode bikes our first day, then enjoyed nice walks as the weather rolled through.
